It is located north-east of the Syrtis Major volcanic province, on the north-western edge of the giant Isidis impact basin. The area shown here covers some 10,300 square kilometres. Some of the central graben depressions are up to 500 metres deep, probably formed at the same time as the basin. Data obtained by the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on Mars Express. The perspective view was calculated from the Digital Terrain Model (DTM) derived from the stereo channels. The European Space Agency's Mars Express has been orbiting Mars since December 2003.
