The snow covered Cairngorm mountains from Speyside in Invernesshire across to Aberdeenshire. SCO 11,146.

There are no public roads through The Cairngorms. All the public roads in the general area either skirt The Cairngorms or stop short—providing access to them only. Historically, pedestrians have been able to cross The Cairngorms by following the traditional routes of the Lairig Ghru, and the Lairig an Laoigh, or around them by following Glen Dee – Glen Feshie, and Bealach Dearg. From the south, and south-east motorised access ends at Linn of Dee, or Allanaquoich. From the north-west it passes Coylumbridge , Glenmoreand the Sugarbowl and ends at the car park at the Cairngorm Mountain Ski Resort.
