But there are two requisites for a successful Catholic settle-ment club. The first is the directive and otherwise active inter-est of the pastor of the parish or of the pastors of the districtin which the club is established. No one can seriously questionthe fathers rights of the pastor. He stands in the community asthe father in the family in the midst of which he dwells and ex-ercises his holy ministry, and no one may lawfully come in be-tween him and his charges.
