Should an alarm besounded, the dory pulls quickly outside therocks, the little black lieads can be seen swim-ming directly toward the boat which at onceputs off to the launch. Often they will quitoperations for a day when they fear they arebeing watched, or will dispose of the under-sized abalones and return and fish legitimately. Half naked the men dive into the foamwhich combs the black rocks and angrily.
