Still life 'Of flesh and blood'.

Still life study in which objects hold a corporeal symbolism, common to many themes found in Northern European Renaissance still life painting of the 15th and 16th centuries. Fruit is often described as having "flesh' whilst red wine is still used as a symbol for "blood". The Violin has a neck and body which have connotations for the female form and fertility and the book is representative of the intellect of the mind.
