The Lake Theater in Oak Park, Illinois, a near western suburb of Chicago. While the community is known for and contains many venerable, historic and distinctive homes and has the world's largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright designed buildings and houses, it also has other forms of historic structures such as the Lake Theater. The Lake opened in 1936 and is named for the street on which it is located. It was designed by noted architect Thomas Lamb, Unlike many vintage theaters, that have been converted to other uses, the Lake remains a movie theater venue.
