The cellars of Chavchavadze estate in the Kakheti Valley in Georgia, which host thousands of dusty old wines from across Europe, some dating back to 1814. Historians say that wine has been made in the Kakheti Valley- a verdant belly of fertile plains ridged with the snow capped Greater Caucasus Mountains- for more than 8000 years. The Georgian government is now hoping to reinvent the Kakheti Valley for wine tourism.
