A Franco-German campaign sword, 3rd quarter of the 17th century, Known as an "épée wallone" or "forte-épée de cavalerie". Straight, double-edged blade, with hollow grinding on both sides of the lower third, each bearing the inscription "ME FECIT SOLINGEN", above which a wolf mark, below a pseudo "Amsterdam" mark struck on the obverse and a crown/"P" on the reverse. Iron knuckle-bow hilt with asymmetric guard rings, including varyingly replaced, openworked guard plates. Wire-wrapped hilt with Turk's heads (the winding has worked slightly loose).
