Auschwitz- II-Birkenau 'Sauna' the Prisoner registration and shower block, often called the Sauna by the inmates due to the reception showers being located there Prisoners were also tattooed at this location with their prison numbers and they had their clothes removed and were issued uniforms. On arrival they were deloused, disinfected and their heads were shaved.
