The best varied' Extensively used as early spring greens, and con- sidered very healthful. Sow seed in May or June, in any good soil, in drills fifteen inches apart, upon beds made smooth with the rake. Cover very lightly, and press the earth firmly upon the seed. Cultivate during the summer to keep down the weeds. Cover with litter upon the approach of severe weather, and remove the covering early in spring. It can be blanched more quickly and thor- oughly by placing boards so as to exclude the light from it. Green Curled. One of the best varieties ; nicely curled. Pkt., .05 ; oz., .25 ; Moss Curled.
