Here can be seenthe homes of many San Franciscans snugly nestled onthe lee side of Belvedere Island. Fare, Tiburon, 25 cents round trip; distance, 6^ miles;time, 30 minutes. Upon leaving Tiburon, RichardsonsBay (87) is skirted, and upon emerging from the secondtunnel, Mt. Tamalpais (74) looms up in all its majesticmagnitude, off to our left. SAN RAFAEL Snugly nestled and hidden amongstthe thick and luxuriant foliage, andencircled by hills, lies the beautiful suburban city of SanRafael, noted the world over for its healthful and invigo-rating climate, making it a winter and health resortgreatly appreciated by eastern tourists and Rafael, located in the eastern part of the city in apark of 40 acres, is among the finest in the west. Tworailroads enter the city, the California Northwestern andthe North Shore Railway. Mt. Tamalpais MilitaryAcademy and several other institutions of learning arelocated here.
