THE TRIAL OF WHITAKER WRIGHT THE TRIAL OF WHITAKERWRIGHT. The career of Whitaker Wright, who forsome years played a leading part as theKing of Stock Exchange gambling, cameto a tragic close on the 26th of January,1004. After a careful trial in the KingsBench Court he was convicted and sen-tenced to seven years penal less than an hour after hearing hissentence he expired, a post-mortem ex-amination showing that he had term-inated his career by taking cyanide ofpotassium.
