5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sept. 16, 2017) Cmdr. Theodore Essenfeld, commanding officer of the the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), prepares to present remarks during the chief petty officer (CPO) pinning ceremony on the ship's flight deck. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
