There was a large and enthusiastic attendance at the club meeting October 19, when the attraction was a stere- opticon lecture on the flora and gar- dens of Japan, by E. H. Wilson, of the Arnold Arboretum. Mr. Wilson re- turned a few months ago from a year's collecting trip in Japan in the inter- ests of the arboretum, and his descrip- tions of the trees, flowers, gardens and people of Japan were deeply interest- ing and instructive. It was voted to offer a $50 silver cup at one of the exhibitions of the Massa- chusetts Horticultural Society in 1916. The landscape classes, it was an- nounced, would resume just as soon as the necessary number of students had<. enrolled. Max S
