(I was born in Cape Town but we emigrated to 'Rhodesia' in the late 50's)., 3) The colour used on the kitchen cabinet door lacquer, the external planters, the aluminium frames to the sliding doors and glazing to the top roof terrace, and the pleated metal pendant lighting over the dining area, is a matching 'coconut grey'., 4) There a number of 'follies' which I believe enhance the home significantly., a) The blue 'cascading water' carpet runner starting and ending in 'puddles' on the ground and first floors;, , b) The infinity guest 'loo', where the smallest room in the house is mirrored on all surfaces but for the black lacquer storage, the floor and some of the walls which are finished in black ceramic crocodile skin relief, so the impression is of a much greater space., c) African face masks plastered into the wall on the main stair landing., d) Contemporary book shelf and storage unit in the living room, translucent bronze sliding doors in the master bedroom, matching black and plum red cupboards with lacquered shelving in the secondary bedrooms, all by Italian firm Tisettanta., , e) 'Grape Bunch' recycled glass pendant lighting from the Lebanon., f) Restored circa 1900 antique hallway doors in Teak and Mahogany.
