Portable X-ray fluorescence spectrometer with bagged sample. Niton X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyser used to determine the mineral composition of rock samples on location. X-rays are used to induce fluorescence in the material, with each different element emitting radiation at a characteristic energy. The machine is housed in a lead lined desktop box.
