A splendid hunting hanger, German, circa 1750 A slightly curved single-edged blade with double fullers on both sides and a double-edged point. Etched scroll decoration and almost illegible maker's inscription, "De la manufacture de la Marque au Raisin(?) à Solingen" on the ricasso. There is an etched picture of hounds in pursuit of game in front of the inscription. Straight, silver quillons, with a guard plate coming to a point. Finials shaped as ram heads. Ivory grip with extremely well crafted relief carvings of hounds fighting a lion, a bear, a wolf, a boar,,
