Set in North London, near Highgate, the client wanted to create a secluded Gym and garage area at the bottom of the steep garden. Rodi MacArthur of MacArchitects came up with a angular building making the most of the available space and dividing it between garage and gym area. A turntable allows cars to drive in forwards and to turn around to exit forward in the narrow alley. Bike racks minimise clutter. Ground to floor glazing allows for maximum inflow of light in an low lying densely wooded area without a lot of sunshine. The wood cladding blends the angular building into the landscape.
