Munsterplein Roermond Netherlands at night

The Munsterkerk is located on Munsterplein in Roermond. It was originally constructed in a Romanesque style in the 13th century, but was converted to a more Gothicized building by Cuypers in the nineteenth century. The church holds the thirteenth century tomb of Gerhard III and his wife, Margaret of Brabant. The Munsterkerk is just one example of the fine architecture in Roermond, a town which has been designated a conservation area because of the sheer amount of historical buildings.
