Air Force Staff Sgt. Ray Scheindel, an aircrewman assigned to the 449th Air Expeditionary Group, completes a post-flight checklist aboard an HC-130P Hercules aircraft at Camp Lemonier, Djibouti, on Jan. 24, 2009. Scheindel and 16 others deployed to Combined Joint Force - Horn of Africa are returning after participating in a three-day rescue operation 260 miles off the coast of Madagascar to rescue three Americans whose sail boat capsized. The crew was able to spot and save one of the stranded.
