Which are the principal forms of tube casts ? The epithelial casts, composed of coherent epithelial cells of cht. Hyaline easts, also one epithelial cast. tubes of Bellini; they are generally pale and transparent, and aroundthem small round cells and nuclei may be recognized (Fig. 14). The hyaline casts appear as pale, transparent cylinders of varioussizes and configurations, and of very delicate outlines ; they are alsotermed mucous casts (Fig. 14). A modification of these with distinct outlines, slightly yellowcolor and waxy lustre are termed waxy casts (Fig. 15). Granular casts (fibrinous casts), resemble the hyaline casts buthave granular contents consisting of cells which have suffered granu-lar change, giving them a darker appearance than the former. 1 liev4 50 EXAMINATION OF TRINE. may contain, also, oxalates, blood and pus corpuscles, fat globulesand epithelial cells (Fig. 16).
