There are goodand substantial buildings upon the place,erected by the owner, and his ambition tosecure a comfortable home and competencehas been laudable and has been crowned withsuccess. There is nothing in his life recordwhich requires or seeks disguise. Year by yeartheir numbers continue to diminish, untilof the hundreds who located here in thefifties only a very few of them withstood the trials, privations andhardships of life on the frontier, cleared theland and made productive farms and com-fortable homes, the result of their arduouslabors being now enjoyed by their childrenand grandchildren.
