Anjem Choudary's Islam 4 UK group protested against British Prime Minister David Cameron's "crusades" against Muslims, after Friday prayers at Regent's Park Mosque. British right wing anti-Islamist groups including the English defence League and Britain First held counter protests. Tensions rose as hundreds of Muslims streamed out of the mosque after praying, with many of the younger men taking exception to the anti-Islamic chanting of the far right. As the Muslims prayed one anti-Islamist, appearing to be acting alone shouted abuse, leading to his eventual arrest after attempting to run away from police officers who were talking to him. As the EDL and Britain First were escorted to Baker Street station, there were several further skirmishes which led to additional arrests.
