'Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, Stratford on Avon', 1876. The theatre was a mixture of gothic and Tudor, 'the pinnacles and turrets of the main building were to earn comparison with a German fairy-tale castle'. The building opened in 1879, and was destroyed by fire in 1926. Architect's drawing published in Building News, 22 September 1876.
