St Mary Steps church Matthew Miller clock
On the tower of this red sandstone 15th century church is the "Matthew the Miller" clock with figures that strike the hour. It is believed to have been modelled on Henry VIII but was called after a local miller who lived his life with such clockwork regularity that neighbours used him as a living time-piece. Inside the church is a Norman font.
