Mule lambs are seen mid-picture leaving the auction ring. Cheviot lambs (with red and blue markings) are seen entering. Hill farmers in the Yorkshire Dales sell their lambs on for finishing at the sale. They are usually bought by farmers in more lowland areas where pastures are richer which enables the lambs to develop better for breeding and eventual meat
