Joe Villines, an Army Sgt. with the Army Reserve and program assistant with the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System, carries reminders on his arms, scratches from organically raised chickens, from his newest endeavors as he reaches for office supplies March 18, 2016. Villines manages to find the balance between his military obligations, his civilian career with the Department of Veterans Affairs, fatherhood, and a growing passion in rural farming. Joe is increasing his knowledge on traditional farming and becoming a man of the soil, and in the process giving back to his local community.(
