People in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Italy's oldest active shopping mal. A major landmark of Milan, Italy, it is a four-story double arcade in the center of town and one of Milan's major claims to fame. It was designed in 1861 and built by architect Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1867 and is named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy.
