Großer Stechlinsee or Lake Stechlin is a lake in the Oberhavel area, Brandenburg, Germany. It has a surface area of km² and with a maximum depth of metres is one of the deepest lakes in the State of Brandenburg. Stechlin cisco, a dwarfed fish, is found only in this lake. It is also one of the clearest lakes and the water is of drinking quality. It is home to the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries.
