Biological control wasp (Eretmocerus eremicus), coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). This tiny wasp is a parasite of Bemisia sp. whitefly. Eretmocerus Eremicus is a parasitoid, a parasite that always kills its host. Females lay their eggs in the whitefly's body and when the larvae hatch they feed on it from the inside out. Eretmocerus Eremicus is used as a biological control agent for whitefly. Magnification: x120 when printed 10cm high.
