An Indian tulwar with wootz-Damascus grip and blade, 18th cventury. Unusually massive wootz-Damascus single-edged blade with a broad, double-edged point. The reverse side bears a cut and gilded inscription while the opposite side has two gilded inscription cartouches. Characteristically wootz-Damascus grip with rubbed gold inlay on the edges and narrow sides. Simple, wooden scabbard. Length 82 cm.
