Operation Vigilant Catamount June 10, 2017(Large chemical hazards drill) Canton, : Early in the morning all exercise participants gather for the exercise safety brief. A pickup truck crashed into a Chlorine Hazardous Materials delivery truck at the Evergreen Paper Plant. Dozens of local first responders from across western NC converge on Canton to protect the lives and property of its citizens. The exercise is designed to test and improve the integration of multiple local, state and federal partners during natural or man-made disasters.
