Police and students were involved in a number of scuffles as University of London students held a "Cops Off Campus" demonstration following the arrest of their union leader in November after a protest against the planned closure of the students' union. At Euston Square station there was a stand-off after students attempted to block the Euston Road. Several students were detained by police, whist others were tightly contained in two separate "kettles".
