Navy Seaman Vega holds his newborn daughter, Crystal Maria, for the first time at Naval Station Norfolk, Va., on July 26, 2004. Vega just returned from a six-month deployment aboard the USS Vella Gulf (CG 72) in the Persian Gulf.
