John William Waterhouse – Diogenes (1882). John William Waterhouse (born between January and April 1849; died 10 February 1917) was an English painter known for working in the Pre-Raphaelite style. Diogenes of Sinope was a Greek philosopher and one of the founders of Cynic philosophy. died at Corinth in 323 BCE.
