For the Northern States there is no crop of greater value than Field Peas, and none is more neglected, which can only be attributed to a lack of knowledge as to its merits. Whether for fodder, in mixture with oats, sown at the rate of two bushels each per acre, or the Peas sown alone at the rate of three bushels per acre for plowing under, there is no crop that we can so strongly recommend for more extended culture. Like all leguminous crops. Peas have the power of extract- ing nitrogen from the air, and the soil from which a crop of Peas has been harvested is richer in nitrogen than before the Peas were sown upon it, and there is no kind of live stock on the farm to which Peas and Oats in mixture can not be fed with positive advantage. 10c qt., 40c peck, $ bushel.
