It is growing by leaps and bounds. As shown by the foregoing tabic, only 66,374 trees were set out by private planters in 1910; in 1915, 115,577 trees; and less than a decade later the number had in- creased to more than eight and one-half mil- lion trees. During 1924, 2,081 forest tree planters set out 8,577,464 trees in all parts of the State. Pennsylvania now leads all other states in the number of trees she supplies to private owners of forest land. GREAT CHANGE HAS TAKEN PLACE The State's program of forest restoration on State Forests has brought remarkable changes. When these lands were acquired, they were in a devastated condition.
