Hip replacement surgery. Retractors holding back the skin and soft tissues around a patient's hip while surgeons harvest bone to be used in a total hip replacement. The harvested bone will be grafted into the existing hip joint around the prosthetic hip. This grafted bone tissue will stimulate bone growth around the implant, helping to hold it in place.
