Home urine test. Home test kit for testing urine for signs of heart, liver and kidney problems and urinary tract infections. A dipstick is immersed in urine and compared to a colour chart. The colours on the dipstick show the concentrations of nitrite, protein, blood cells, bilirubin and urobilinogen. High levels of nitrite can indicate infection, while high protein levels could be a symptom of kidney, urinary tract or heart problems. Blood in the urine may be due to kidney or urinary tract damage. Urobilinogen and bilirubin levels above normal could indicate liver problems.
