Post-mortem on bullet exit wound in head. When a bullet exits the body, it often creates a larger hole than when it entered. This is because bullets can be designed to flatten on impact or fragment into several bits. This creates an expanding cone of debris drilling through the body and creating this larger exit hole. This increases the damage to the body, making a fatal outcome more likely. Here, the removal of the outer tissue layers has revealed the cracks in the skull from the impact of the bullet. The bloody and damaged brain can be seen through the hole in the skull. The photograph will be used as evidence.
