The village sign of Mulbarton shows Baron de St. Omer on the left. He was awarded the Manor of Molkebertuna, as it was then known, after the Norman Conquest. On the right is Sir Edwin Rich who was Lord of the Manor of Mulbarton in the 1600s. Between the two is the parish church which is said to have been rebuilt by Thomas de St Omer as penance for wrongfully hanging a man for sheep stealing in 1285.
