When finished the farm will consist of 102, MW turbines, giving a total capacity of the Walney project of MW, enough to power 320,000 homes. The rotor diameter of the turbines is 107m for Walney 1 and 120 m for Walney 2. The turbines are shipped into the UK and stored at Mostyn port in North Wales. From here they are picked up by a jack up barge, that sails out to the construction site to build the turbines. This shot shows nose cones with specialist lifting pieces in the foreground.
