A Central European knightly sword, 10th century. A heavy cutting sword with a lenticular cross section. There is a sheet iron sleeve around the base of the blade. Short, straight quillons with slightly rounded edges. Strong tang with a flattened, half round pommel. Cleaned water discovery with remnants of encrustation. Length 98 cm.
