Gistpoort, the gothic access gate to the Abbey (Abdij) of Middelburg, Zeeland, Netherlands, with its impressive carvings. the Gistpoort, Gate or blue gate that was once part of the Abbey of Our Lady, a former Norbertine monastery. The gateway is the transit route between Abbey square and the street Dam. The front facade, main facade is of blue natural stone and built in late Gothic style. Above the arch gate are three images, in the middle William the second, Count of Holland and Zeeland. This old gatehouse of the sixteenth century, is a famous landmark, cultural heritage site, national monument and tourist attraction.
