Bewick's swan (Cygnus columbianus) AKA Tundra Swan on a riverbank. This species of holarctic swan breeds in Arctic regions including northern Russia, the Pacific, Alaska and Canada. It migrates to the Netherlands and the British Isles. An adult bird can grow up to 127 centimetres long with a 170-195 centimetre wingspan. In the winter it feeds on agricultural crops due to the lack of aquatic vegetation in open water. Photographed at Kenai Peninsula, Alaska in August
