The great area of school landsyet unsold, gathering value with passing time, is to form anirreducible fund, and at present valuations this fund has nowreached the estimate of over $35,000,000. There are 1720 school districts. Since 1890, 126 new school-houses have been built, making a total to date of 1515, with 18(tgraded schools. Number of children in the State between five and twenty-oneyears of age, 106,130, of which 78,819 are enrolled in public schools;.
