The foundation-stone ceremony was the last service of the kind Mr. W. Hodge, ofHull, was privileged to attend. Matthew Denton, Francis Rudd, and W. Edmandson should havehonourable mention in any account, however brief, of the earlyhistory of Primitive Methodism in Beverley. The first-namedjoined the Church as far back as 1826, and lived to be appointedin 1886 a Deed Poll Member, and to attend several Conferencesmatthew denton. -m capacity.
