Maj. Gen. Christopher Mahoney, the commanding general of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), gives his final regards to the Marines of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 314, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd MAW, on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, July 29, 2021. This was Mahoney’s final flight as the commanding general of 3rd MAW, and it signified his trust and confidence within the Marines of 3rd MAW and their ability to develop, direct and assess air operations in the execution of the six functions of Marine aviation.
