Rail Bridge over the River Tay, Scotland
The Tay Rail Bridge is the second rail bridge to have been built at this location. The previous bridge was destroyed in a storm as a train crossed it on 28 December 1879 - one year after it was opened - with the loss of 75 lives. The Tay Rail Bridge is the longest rail bridge in the United Kingdom.
