A view overlooking Creech Grange, an old historic country house nestling below the Purbeck Hills of Dorset. England, United Kingdom.

A grange was a large country house with farm buildings Grange was built by Sir Oliver Lawrence (1507-1559) who was an ancestor of George Washington the first American president .In 1691 the house was sold to Nathaniel Bond and it still remains in the hands of the Bond family to this day. It was a member of this family, Thomas Bond, who in Stuart times made his mark on the nation when he laid out and then gave his name to the famous London remains of the original building, which was badly damaged when it was set on fire by Parliamentarian forces during the English Civil War. In 1846 the entire front was taken down and rebuilt in the local Tudor style.
